Faversham Abbey

Faversham Abbey was a Cluniac style monastery〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Faversham Abbey )〕 immediately to the north-east of the town of Faversham, England.
It was founded by King Stephen and his queen Matilda of Boulogne (not to be confused with his cousin Matilda, also known as the Empress Maud) in 1148.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Faversham Abbey )〕 A party of monks from Bermondsey Abbey provided the nucleus and the first abbot.
It is the burial place of King Stephen of England, Queen Matilda, and their son Eustace IV of Boulogne.
